Yellowstone Club’s Outdoor Pursuits department is currently seeking candidates for Fly Fishing Guides for the upcoming Summer season! Our Summer employment months are June - September. The purpose of the role is to provide a Montana Fly Fishing experience that will focus on safety, fun and learning. Each trip is an opportunity to showcase appreciation of outdoors available to YC members. The environmental education of fly-fishing presents a unique opportunity to catch a rare indigenous West slope cutthroat trout. Teaching is the foundation of the Outdoor Pursuits team and the safety of the guests is the goal. Major Responsibilities: • Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service. • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner. • Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately. • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment. Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Clock in 1 hour before first trip time (this varies with season) • Fill coolers with ice and water make sure UTV’s have gas • Make sure UTV’s or personal vehicles are clean • Help with setting up rods in the shop and making sure waders and boots are clean and ready • Make sure clients have current fishing licenses or get License information • Manage trip times so in event of more than one trip guide is on time • Day ends only after last scheduled trip time • Clean boots and make sure rods are in good shape for next person • Clean UTV’s and make sure they have gas • Fill out Outfitters Log and have all names for checkout Other Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position. • Meet departmental productivity, organization, punctuality/attendance and consistency standards. • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude. • Treat Members, guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times. • Maintain privacy of our Members at all time. • Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times. • Facial hair will be trimmed beard to 1/4” or clean shaven. • Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, managers and directors. • Perform work in a safe and high quality manner. • Project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club to Members and guests at all times. • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. A seeking fly fishing guides for the 2026 summer season. Spotted Bear Ranch is an Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge in Northwest Montana. We operate on the South Fork of the Flathead River and its tributaries offering first-class fly-fishing trips for native Westslope Cutthroat and Bull Trout. This is one of the only legal Bull Trout fisheries in the lower 48!! Guides - Applicants should have prior guiding experience and a good knowledge of western trout fishing. Must be a team player, self-motivated, a good teacher, and know how to row. All applicants will need to have or be able to obtain a Montana Guide License. Lodge - Trips depart daily from our lodge floating two sections of the South Fork of the Flathead. We also offer multiple walk/wade trips. This position would start in early June and run until early September. Wilderness - Trips depart weekly from our trailhead and venture into the interior of the Bob Marshall Wilderness on horseback. The first two days of these trips are mostly riding with some walk/wade fishing in the evenings. Day three is a layover day with some incredible walk/wade fishing opportunities. Days 4-6 are spent float fishing back to the point of origin. This position would start in mid/late June and run until late August. Responsibilities • Lead guided fly fishing trips, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for clients. • Provide expert instruction on fly fishing techniques and equipment usage. • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences. • Manage time efficiently to maximize fishing opportunities during trips. • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing any questions or concerns. • Foster a positive and educational environment, enhancing clients' fishing skills. Accommodations - Lodge guides are provided bunkhouse style housing. Pro Outfitters Montana is looking for professional fly fishing guides for the upcoming Smith River season, which begins in mid May and ends in early July. These trips are 4 day, 5 night excursions that require guiding and rowing experience, serious work ethic, and the ability to work well with a team. A season will include six or seven trips. When Smith River season is over there is a chance to guide other rivers in the area with us for the remainder of the season, through September. Responsibilities • Guide clients on fly fishing techniques and safety protocols while navigating the Smith River. • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all participants. • Communicate effectively with clients, offering instruction and support throughout the fishing trip. • Manage time efficiently to maximize fishing opportunities and maintain a smooth schedule. • Demonstrate rowing skills to maneuver the boat safely and effectively in various water conditions.
