It’s a 3 year commitment (2 in the shop, 1 split shop/guiding) but once completed, you will be very well trained as a professional Guide with the respect of many of the top Guides and Outfitters in the region. Most of the best Guides on the Missouri River have gone trough our program and have the most repeat customer requests filling up their calendars every year! This program allows you to get paid as you learn, train and do, as opposed to paying thousands for a Guide School. (However, we highly respect and recommend attending a Guide School as well. In fact, many of our Guide Apprentices have come to CCFS after attending a Guide School.). About Us/The Position: • Wandering Angler is a fly fishing and spin fishing outfit based in Jackson WY. We offer guided drift boat and walk wade trips on the Snake, Green, Salt rivers and in Yellowstone National Park. • 85% of the customers we take are beginners or have only fished a few times. We own five 18ft drift boats that can hold up to 5 guests plus the guide, making our peak season (Mid June - August) very family and kid oriented. In May, June and Setpember we book lots of couples and groups (2 person boats). • Prior expeirence is ideal, but we are motivated to train the right person with a solid base knowledge of fly fishing. Professional fishing guides have their own truck and boat, but we do have company vehicles and boats for the right canidate. • We offer some of the most completitve pay in the valley and auto grautity all direct bookings. Guide pay is based on number of guests, so rowing an 18ft boat with 5 guests plus auto gratuity is a great pay day. • We have a short summer season to make a living and look for guides who can work 5-6 days per week. • Ideal Canidate: Fun, positive, enthusistic and strong guide that can safely row and manage customers and the river. • Housing: We have several 4-5 bedroom, 2-3 bathroom homes in Victor and Driggs Idaho (30-45 minute commute) for staff housing. Around $800 month. Roomates are other fishing and rafting guides that work for the company.
