We are seeking a dynamic leader to join the Management Team at the South Holston River Lodge. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and be passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. An outgoing personality is a must. Previous leadership experience with a fishing or hunting lodge is required. Fly fishing experience, either professionally or recreationally, is strongly preferred. Must be a people person and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. The Assistant Lodge Manager at the South Holston River Lodge is an intricate part of our program. We strive for a seamless experience and to exceed expectations at every facet of our operation. Maintaining platinum standards at an all-inclusive fly fishing lodge requires a high level of communication, attention to detail, anticipation, patience and flexibility. Our team manages and tailor fits all aspects of each trip for each guest which includes all meals, beverages, accommodations, and fly fishing needs. We build lasting relationships and have earned a sparkling reputation in the fly fishing industry and will continue in the same form. We are small team, about twenty employees including the lodge staff and guides, that works hard and likes to have fun while doing so. We are the Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge of the Year for 2025! Responsibilities: · MOD (Manager on duty) 5 shifts per week (We are open seven days per week and host guests year-round. Evening shifts begin at 1pm; day shifts begin at 6:45am) · Provide excellent customer service by prioritizing the guest experience and addressing any issues or concerns promptly · Oversee food service activities including breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance to guests’ dietary restrictions and preferences · Supervise and lead a team of housekeepers, servers, chefs, and fishing guides ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service, making sure each member of the team is set up for success · Manage shifts effectively to meet operational, client, and staff needs · Work with the Management Team to maintain a positive culture for our employees via a solution-based and team focused management style · Work tasks are performed outside and inside. Working at the lodge requires walking up and down hills as well as office and restaurant responsibilities · Office responsibilities can include pre-check-in phone calls, booking and organizing reservations, keeping calendars updated, collecting payments, and creating staff schedules · We work in all weather conditions, as a true four-season lodge. This can include gardening, basic landscaping, building camp fires, and assisting with larger projects and cabin maintenance. · The opportunity to guide on our tailwaters exists for the right candidate.
